Just More Paintings in Progress

I got invited to an Art Show. The theme is 80's Horror Movies. Yup, it'll be held around Halloween. When I got the invitation, my immediate thought was...hmmm I haven't watched Horror movies in ages. Perhaps when I was in high school? I remember it was The Omen and it wasn't really that scary but left an unpleasant feeling and of course gave me a bad dream. It wasn't cool at all since I had to get up at 4.15am the next morning.
I did some reading of the movies listed for the show and decided to pick Poltergeist. I've never seen it, so we rented it and watched it in the morning (bad dream avoidance strategy). After playing around with some ideas in my head for two days, I came up with something. I sketched it, drew it, did a bit of adjustment, transferred it, and am now painting it.
Like any other paintings I did, I have no idea how this one will turn out. Every layer is always a journey.

I was actually working on this when I got the invitation. This one will have to wait for a bit. One love at a time

I love the piece . I love the green and the colors in it.
I was also thinking about you saying "one love at a time ". I like that . Maybe that's my problem , I jump around alot . To many loves I guess ;).

Wow, Heidi! Your painting on Poltergeist looks amazing! I remember not being able to sleep for days after watching that film. Well, which brought me to the question, how my parents would let their little kid watch a movie like that in the first place. Hahahaa...

wow, heidi - great pick!!! i love poltergeist. though, i'm glad you didn't pick exorcist (this movie freaked me out for the longest time - i watched it recently and it made me laugh, so i guess i'm over the fear). both paintings are beautiful, great work. i'm sure it's going to be more amazing when it's done.

Jackie: good to see you again. I think it'll be less green as it progresses:) I try to do two paintings at the same time....didn't work. I'm more of one track mind:)

Amal: I've never seen Poltergeist until last week. I'm glad my parents didn't let me watch a movie like that when I was little:)

Carla: I've never seen Exorcist (saw some clips of it, though). It wasn't on the list, so I don't think I'll just voluntarily rent the movie...hehehe. I need something that leads to a good night sleep...not scary movie (even though it's cheesy:)
